Provide administrative and secretarial support to attorneys and legal staff.
Draft, type, and format correspondence, legal documents, and court pleadings.
Manage and maintain attorneys' diaries, appointments, and court dates.
Handle telephone calls, emails, and client correspondence professionally and promptly.
Open, manage, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures.
Prepare court bundles and ensure proper filing of legal documents with courts and authorities.
Maintain accurate records and filing systems (both digital and physical).
Liaise with clients, advocates, and external parties in a professional manner.
Assist with billing, timesheets, and invoicing processes.
Perform general office duties such as photocopying, scanning, and maintaining supplies.
Qualifications and Skills
Matric (Grade 12) required.
A relevant
Legal Secretary or Office Administration qualification
preferred.
1-2 years' experience
in a legal environment (litigation experience an advantage).
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and document formatting.
Excellent command of
English (written and verbal)
.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal management systems.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
