in our Cape Town office who will be responsible for rendering professional legal advice to Law for All policy holders. The successful candidate will act on behalf of Law for All policy holders by way of informal mediation and negotiations; This includes attending to the drafting of letters and other legal documents, also conducting consultations with policy holders with the intention of ensuring that their matters are resolved amicably.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
LLB degree and or admitted as a Legal Practitioner
Minimum of two years of experience within a legal environment
Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in two official African languages. This must include, but is not limited to, Setswana, Sesotho, Sepedi, or any other recognized official language.

High level legal knowledge and/or experience in Criminal Law
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Duties as set out below is not an exhaustive list limited to same, and as such any reasonable request made by LAW for ALL or demands that the office might require due to operations will be the responsibility of the Legal Professional to comply with and/or attend to)
?Attending to the emergency Bail Queues;
?Responsible for taking down comprehensive instructions from policy holders during personal consultations or telephonically, or by receipt of written instructions by letter, email; and supply immediate basic legal and product advice if required;
?Attend to criminal files;
?Register new cases on Lawyerly, where necessary; including all relevant dates and values and verify policy payment history, before commencing with legal assistance;
?The LAW FOR ALL process must be explained in detail to policy holders as well as the exclusion procedure, thus managing the policy holders' expectations;
?Keeping of comprehensive and complete legal case files with regular entries and notes as prescribed by the Legal Policy;
?Supply regular progress reports and/or feedback to policy holders on their pending files. Feedback must be provided to policy holders at least twice a month or as often as the legal matter dictates;
?Verbal and written interpretation of the law and legal matters and reflection thereof on the files in a comprehensive manner;
?Providing policy holders with legal opinions, whether written or telephonically;
?Research legal relevant topics to remain aware of all current laws in a particular legal scenario;
?Follow instructions left by management in file notes or via e-mail or verbal instruction;
?Maintaining effective relationships with administration and support staff;
?Drafting of letters, representations and appeals;
?Mediation for the purposes of settlement of policy holders' complaints;
?Assessing merits of legal cases for the purposes of legal advice to policy holders and/or for ascertaining whether member qualifies for litigation cover (product knowledge);
?Managing litigation exclusions in cooperation with the Head of Department and in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Legal Policy;
?Verification of policy payment history monthly;
?Organising referrals/instructions to accredited panel attorneys, where necessary;
?Follow rejection/exclusion procedures in accordance with the legal policy and as required by law;
?Proper administration of his/her file load of pending case files; and diarising system;
?Attending to call backs to policy holders, received via tasks on Lawyerly or other client communication platforms.
