Job Purpose
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A relevant Masters' degree in Inclusive Education (OR a relevant Hons-degree for Junior Lecturer level). Theory of Education as a major at Bachelor's level. A relevant teaching degree. At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience in Inclusive Education and Theory of Education at tertiary level Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate Phase (and Foundation Phase) students. Experience and knowledge of support and differentiated teaching for learners experiencing barriers to learning related to Language.

Please Note: Preference will be given to candidates meeting the minimum requirements at Lecturer level




Recommendations:




A relevant doctoral degree. Relevant research output. Knowledge and understanding of CAPS in the Intermediate Phase (and Foundation Phase). Solid grounding in the subject (Inclusive Education) as well as the teaching methodologies. Experience in the planning, designing and editing of teaching and learning materials (including electronic). Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Teaching in the Intermediate (and Foundation Phase). Curriculum development and other learning materials. Supervising students on teaching practice. Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision). Academic administration, development, and administration. Learning support for and in multilingual classrooms. Assessment and quality assurance. Networking with schools and other networks. Community engagement. Coaching and mentoring. Learner focus. Meticulous planning and organizing skills. Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of department. Competencies
Expert subject knowledge (Technical & Professional knowledge and skills). Excelling teaching skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Academic management experience.
