Key roles and responsibilities:



Plan, prepare for and deliver 3 live lectures online in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme in the following module:

Xitsonga Home Language 1 - DL Ya

Language Conversational Xitsonga - DL LCXTS152 - S2a

Language Conversational Xitsonga - DL LCXTS152 - S2b

Literacy Xitsonga Home Language 2 - DL XTSLI301 S1a

Literacy Xitsonga Home Language 2 - XTSLI301 S1b

Engage with and provide feedback to coordinating lecturers and programme coordinators to improve teaching and learning.

Assess student work

Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.

Provide feedback to students

Carry out allocated internal pre-and post-moderation responsibilities.

Engage with coordinating lecturers on assessments and provide feedback on successes/challenges

Provide academic support to students.

Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.

Consult with students on weekly basis and upon request by students

Manage students at-risk as per the institutional policies and SOPs.

Improve the quality of own teaching through the scholarship of teaching and learning; share findings with STADIO teaching community

Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.

Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.

Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.

Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.

Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.



Qualification and minimum requirements:



Minimum Bachelor of Education Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Xitsonga.

At least three years teaching and/or lecturing experience in the relevant phase and disciplines.

Experience in curriculum and materials development.

Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments.



Knowledge and skills:



Sound teaching and assessment skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to cope with change.

Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
