Job Description

Requirements for Lecturer:


o A PhD degree and Masters degree in Industrial/Organisational Psychology. Applicants with significant progress towards a PhD may be considered
o Proven research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or research reports.
o Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Industrial Psychologist preferably for three years or more
o Educational background, teaching and research interests in psychology disciplines allied with organisational/industrial foci (e.g. workplace wellness and counselling, psychological assessment)
o Ability to teach postgraduate statistics and research methods is an advantage.

Requirements for Senior Lecturer:


o A PhD degree and Masters degree in Industrial/Organisational Psychology.
o Proven research ability as evidenced by a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or research reports.
o NRF rating would be advantageous
o Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Industrial Psychologist preferably for three years or more
o Educational background, teaching and research interests in psychology disciplines allied with organisational/industrial foci (e.g. workplace wellness and counselling, psychological assessment)
o Ability to teach postgraduate statistics and research methods is an advantage.

This will be a permanent post subject to a three year probationary period.

Responsibilities:

Teach courses in organisational psychology, research methods and/or psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level; contributions to course-level curriculum development and transformation; academic administration; supervision of postgraduate students; willingness to pursue an active programme of research and research publication; and willingness to participate in the intellectual and public life of the school and university.
