Job Description
Lecturing in the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2 years relevant teaching experience in higher education or 2 years industrial experience in the Civil Engineering Industry.
- Must be registered be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must be willing to register within 12 months of employment.
- Lecturing Civil Engineering subjects in the Civil Engineering Programme
- Develop innovative teaching and learning materials
- Contribute to curriculum and programme development
- Augment departmental research
- Promote community participation, linkages, outreach and industry liaison
- Supervise and mentor students
- Assessment and academic development
- Perform academic administrative duties
- Assist with departmental administration
- Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department.
- Ensure good quality assurance practice.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Computer literacy in MS Office with good organizational and time management skills
- Aptitude for continuous learning
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of continuous evaluation and integrated assessment
- Strong learner focus
- Adaptability
- Interpersonal skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
