The Faculty of Natural Sciences hosts nine academic departments, a School of Pharmacy and several world-class research institutes and centres. Based on a foundation of internationally-recognised quality research, the faculty is committed to learning and teaching excellence and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the major scientific disciplines as well as a professional degree in Pharmacy.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences is inviting suitable candidates to apply for available positions of Lecturer within the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP). To apply for the vacancies, you must have taught in the ECP programme for at least 5 years on a full-time basis. The successful candidates will be appointed from 01 January 2026 as part of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Biodiversity and Conservation Biology or Statistics and Population Studies. The successful candidates will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Conduct research and publish in relevant fields
  • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
  • Provide academic administration
  • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
  • Participate in community engagement and outreach
Minimum Requirements
  • Masters qualification or equivalent in one of the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Biodiversity and Conservation Biology or Statistics.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning in the field of Mathematics, Physics, Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, or Statistics within the ECP, for at least 5 years.
