Job Description

We are looking for a learnership candidate interested in developing skills as a General Operator in a manufacturing environment. This program is ideal for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in operating manufacturing machines, quality control, and routine maintenance.

The role requires someone who can work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Since this is a production-based position, candidates must be physically fit, hands-on, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Load raw materials (jumbo rolls) onto the machine. Adjust machine settings (speed, tension, cutting length). Assist in monitoring machine performance and ensuring smooth operation. Learn to conduct basic troubleshooting for mechanical issues. Help with removing finished toilet rolls and stacking them for further processing. Maintain cleanliness and safety around the machine. Support in recording quality reports and communicating issues to the production team. Assist in routine maintenance, lubrication, and calibration of the machine. Assist in maintaining a log of maintenance activities and spare parts inventory. Understand the safety mechanisms of the machine. Support the production team to meet daily output targets. Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills. Operate cutting machine. Assist in loading finished goods for dispatch. Ensure implementation of health and safety requirements in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) Previous experience in a production environment (advantageous but not required) Basic computer literacy Reliable and honest Must be punctual Ability to maintain confidentiality Able to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment
