Job Description

Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd is part of a global organisation and is engaged in the design, production and distribution of energy metering and energy management products.

To lead and optimise warehouse operations, value stream processes, and facilities management within supply chain and operations--ensuring inventory integrity, operational efficiency, and infrastructure readiness to support current and future business needs.

Areas of Responsibility

1. Inventory Management & Stock Accuracy

Ensure alignment between system and physical stock through structured cycle counts, full stock takes, and regular variance analysis. Manage stock adjustments in line with company policy and ensure bin location accuracy. Analyse trends to reduce obsolescence, control material redundancy, and optimise inventory turnover. Maintain clear audit trails, compliance with internal controls, and financial governance standards. Oversee subcontractor inventory and cycle counting. Monitor stock levels, enforce FIFO practices, and generate monthly reports (e.g., stock accuracy, ageing, and redundancy). Utilise SAP ERP and data analytics for visibility, traceability, and inventory control.

2. Warehouse Operations & Material Flow Excellence

Oversee inbound, storage, picking, and outbound processes to ensure timely and accurate material handling. Manage the full kitting process for factory and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery aligned to shortage lists. Monitor and coordinate the flow of production materials, aligning to production orders and buyer communication. Optimise warehouse layout, racking, and space utilisation to improve efficiency. Ensure the warehouse is clean, organised, and compliant with 5S and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. Manage the MRB (Material Review Board) area, controlling slow-moving and rejected materials, including 'Red Tag' items.

3. Value Stream Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

Map and analyse end-to-end supply chain and logistics processes to eliminate inefficiencies and waste. Implement Lean methodologies to improve throughput, reduce non-value-adding activities, and enhance service levels. Collaborate across functions (procurement, production, planning, logistics) to align operations with customer demand. Track and improve key metrics (e.g., OTIF, inventory days, cycle time, COGI resolution).

4. Facilities Management & Strategic Planning

Take ownership of all warehouse and operational premises to ensure infrastructure and utilities support smooth operations. Drive capacity expansion, reconfiguration projects, and infrastructure upgrades. Maintain facility cleanliness, compliance, and suitability for all business functions--production, logistics, and administration. Promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental compliance.

5. Personnel & Functional Area Management

Lead and manage stores personnel across receiving, raw material storage, picking, despatch, subcontractor coordination, and production support. Allocate roles effectively between permanent, contract, and casual staff, ensuring adequate support in all functional areas. Provide training and guidance to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance.

6. Inbound, Despatch & Logistics Coordination

Manage incoming goods inspection, booking, and binning processes to ensure timeous and accurate inventory registration. Coordinate factory and subcontractor transfers to despatch, managing bookings and delivery schedules. Expedite goods via courier and logistics partners, ensuring on-time delivery and proper documentation (e.g., PODs). Liaise with logistics to ensure adherence to customer delivery requirements.

7. Audit & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with company procedures and audit recommendations. Monitor internal process adherence and address findings to ensure ongoing operational excellence.
