Job Description


Main Responsibilities include:

  • Manage maintenance processes and maximize equipment availability to ensure a productive performance and safe working environment.
  • Implement and streamline new working procedures and processes to ensure better productivity.
  • Identify areas that could pose a negative impact on performance and manage outputs in order to achieve set targets
  • Report on any deviations detect and unsafe conditions to the Engineers.
  • Plan and control daily maintenance activities according to good utility practice, contractual and KOPS rules and procedure requirements.
  • Ensure activities executed adhere to quality control to minimise rework
  • Liaise with various stakeholders for purposes of resolving problems i.e ensures all necessary precautions are taken by technicians and contractors while undertaking any jobs on site.
  • Ensure that all events, activities and decisions taken during shift operations are punctually and accurately reported on.
  • Measure each individual output on monthly basis through manpower utilization and address where reduced output is identified
  • Measure and improve equipment MTTR and MTBF as it affects plant/equipment availability
  • Ensure all personnel is authorised to take PTW and avoid lapse on authorization
  • Ensure that settings (variables) are adjust according to specifications and O & M agreement.
  • Enforces discipline and high performance of teams through the relevant ER/HR procedures and interventions.
  • Conduct PTO (Plan Task Observations) and toolbox talk on weekly and daily basis
  • Manage and monitor overtime, absenteeism, leave planning within limits and achieve saving in this regards.
  • Ensures that there is a Permit to Work (taken by the Technician) for each job as necessitated by the Plant HSE Procedures put in place
  • Ensures a safe and health work environment in which technicians and contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-4 years of operation experience in Thermal power plant & CSP Power Plant.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • Code 8/10 Drivers license

  • Leadership, team spirit, communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient with PC software's, able to write reports.
  • Meticulous with attention to detail.
  • A person of sober habits
