Laboratory Assistant (Grade 04) 1-year contract
Centre for Biological Control
Department of Zoology and Entomology
The Centre for Biological Control in the Department of Zoology and Entomology would like to invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
To assist the researchers in conducting laboratory quality assurance analyses including screening for disease organisms and bioassays and to assist with the maintenance of the insect cultures housed in the Centre for Biological Control.
The Requirements
Relevant qualification: Grade 12, preferably with Biology and/or Science and 6 months relevant experience where such experience includes: -

• Previous experience working in a scientific laboratory (candidates with lab experience as part of post-school qualification may also be considered)
• Must be in possession of a valid drivers license

• The selection process that will be followed for this post will include an assessment and/or presentation and an interview.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 04):
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum:R162,300.00
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately):R163,923.00

Skills Required
