Job Description
Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward, Dishwasher, or Cleaner preferred but not required (training will be provided). Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment is an advantage. Physically fit to handle standing for long periods, lifting, and manual tasks. Reliable, hardworking, and able to work under pressure. Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Must be eligible to work in South Africa and provide valid work authorization.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to the hotel daily.
Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and storage areas. Operate dishwashing machines and ensure correct use of cleaning chemicals. Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks when required (e.g., peeling, chopping). Ensure kitchen equipment is stored properly and in good working condition. Support in receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries. Dispose of kitchen waste according to hotel procedures and recycling guidelines. Follow hotel and HACCP food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors immediately. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed. Participate in regular deep-cleaning schedules. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Stewarding Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.Job Type: Full-time
