Job Summary

As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will lead the various sections of the Finance
Department and are responsible for the day to day accounting duties.

xefx82xb7 You will also provide periodic management reports on the financial performance of the Camp.
xefx82xb7 Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
xefx82xb7 Assist the Finance Controller to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals
within the camp
xefx82xb7 Ensure that the Finance team provides month-end closing and all other required management
reports
xefx82xb7 Ensure all financial regulations are met, through the maintenance of adequate systems of
internal control
xefx82xb7 Ensure that balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the camp
xefx82xb7 Understand the requirements of the Internal Control Program (ICP) and ensure that the Camp is
in compliance
xefx82xb7 Work with external/ internal auditors and assist with year-end audit preparations and drafting
of financial statements
xefx82xb7 Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicates any
perceived weakness to the Finance Controller
xefx82xb7 Prepare capital reviews as required by the Management
xefx82xb7 Assist the Finance Controller in internal daily audits of cash deposits, transfers and the
preparation/ monitoring of the capital budget
xefx82xb7 Assist to prepare budget and maintain controls on spending to ensure budgetary limits are met
xefx82xb7 Assist in daily stock management by ensuring compliance of the stock management procedures.
xefx82xb7 Assist the Financial controller in ensuring compliance in all government licenses.
xefx82xb7 Assist in sorting minor IT issues that occur from time to time
xefx82xb7 Prepare schedule and coordinate the monthly physical stock taking
xefx82xb7 Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of the monthly payroll input schedules
xefx82xb7 Assist in supervising the accounts, stores and front office staff

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the qualifications, skills, attitude,
behaviors and values that follow:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or related business disciplines
  • CPA/ACCA qualifications
  • Ability to effectively deal with the concerns of guests and team members in a friendly and
positive manner, providing positive and proactive solutions

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Excellent analytical skills - Knowledge of financial operating systems and
procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing, leadership skills, inter-personal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • At least 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar position in camp, or resort
  • Experience with Excel other IT software systems used in hotel industry

pro-active, ability to work under pressure and have high energy levels. Must have the ability to
meet deadlines, be accountable and a good mentor.
