Role Overview
The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value clients, ensuring retention, profitability, and growth. The role involves multi-level engagement across client organisations, coordination with internal teams, and strategic planning to strengthen the company's presence across the Southern Africa corridor.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic business plans for each Key Account.
Lead multi-level client engagement, from operational teams to decision-makers.
Track and report financial performance vs. targets (Gross Margin tracking, budgeting).
Drive new and extension business within key and existing accounts.
Participate in tender processes, pricing negotiations, and RFQ submissions.
Lead monthly performance reviews with clients, supported by internal reporting teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal front, middle, and back-office teams to ensure client satisfaction and issue resolution.
Maintain client information and market intelligence to identify threats and opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the logistics or supply chain sector.
Proven experience in key account development across regional logistics operations.
Strong commercial acumen, client-facing credibility, and data-driven decision making.
CRM proficiency and solid understanding of supply chain end-to-end.
