Job Description


Based East Rand. Multinational Group which has small & highly professional offices around the world is seeking a Service Account Manager for their Southern African Region (South Africa, Namibia & Botswana markets). The Corporate Holding Company overseas manufactures their niche products and is the worlds most trusted xe2x80x98original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with their machinery/equipment being exported and assembled at each of their Customers sites. Due to the uniqueness of their machinery/equipment and suite of products there are very few competitors locally and internationally. In addition to their core products being sold, there are accessories and upgrades, audits, repairs and maintenance, spare parts, training and support which are sold to their Customers (which are all currently in the Mining Sector). Their machines/equipment are xe2x80x98state of the art and the Holding Company has received multiple awards in their country of origin. The Company is deemed as an employer of choice and each office internationally consists of an experienced team of Engineers and Technicians. The culture of the business is informal yet professional with a high working ethos, transparent, target driven, passionate and very hands-on from xe2x80x98top to bottom. The Service Account Manager will focus on xe2x80x98after market which include spare parts, repairs, service, labour, products and training. This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager Africa. The Service Account Manager is a key member of the Regional Sales Team and will primarily focus on account development, namely, selling after market technical services and product to current and new Customers.
Key performance areas, inter alia, include:

  • Develop close contacts and relationships with key mining operating personnel at all sites in SA, Namibia & Botswana. This will involve working closely with 2 specialised Service Technicians in the region who will inter alia provide leads and insights into the Customers requirements (the Mines). This will involve travelling between 80 120 days per annum (on average, 3 Customer visits per week).
  • Utilise market analysis and sales trends to focus on specific markets and identify an understanding of the Customers needs to provide technical solutions so as to streamline their operations. Furthermore, utilise computer systems like Salesforce, CRM and Excel to formulate Sales Plans and analysing data.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly sales targets set by the Regional Sales Manager whom the candidate will be collaborating closely with, as well as other support employees, including Sales Co-ordinator and Customer Support Specialist.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both Customers and in-house employees. This will also include displaying professionalism and effectiveness in service and sales as well as participating in the Companys lean philosophy, strategic planning and ISO quality systems framework.
Requirements:
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Millwright qualification or similar with at least 3-5 years experience in a technical based role, either in the Mining or Manufacturing environment. Thereafter, the candidate will have moved into an Account Management or Sales role with specific xe2x80x98Sales KPIs targets with proven achievements of those targets.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication as well as superior negotiation skills. In addition, able to quickly generate a rapport, establish trusting and credible working relationships and able to interpret and respond clearly to the Customer.
  • The successful candidate will be a go-getter, hungry achiever, extrovert and have a track record of achieving & reaching targets. Furthermore, the need to be meticulous, pedantic and able to work autonomously are key personality requirements.
  • Computer literacy as outlined above, well developed time management skills, organised, focused and with a proven ability to determine work priorities and meet deadlines. Able to travel (using Company car).
