Job Title: Key Account Manager Location: Johannesburg, South Africa or Dubai, UAE Salary:
South Africa: R48,200 - R57,840 per month
Dubai: AED 10,000 - AED 12,000 per month
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing existing key accounts and driving new business development efforts. The ideal candidate is expected to generate revenue at least 3 times their total cost to company. Requirements:
o Minimum of 5 years' experience in Key Account Management and Business Development
o Prior experience in logistics and commodities transportation is highly preferred
o Proven experience with the transportation of bulk commodities, particularly:
o Results-driven with a focus on ROI and revenue growth
o Fluent in English (required)
o Proficiency in additional African languages such as Portuguese or French is highly advantageous
o Formal education is flexible - strong, relevant experience will take priority over degrees
Responsibilities:
Maintain and grow relationships with existing key accounts to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the logistics and commodities transport sectors, focusing on Copper, Chrome, Lithium, Coal, and Magnesium
Drive profitability by achieving revenue targets that are at least three times the total cost to company
Develop and implement account strategies tailored to client needs and aligned with business objectives
Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing regular insights and feedback to senior management
Lead pricing discussions, negotiate contracts, and ensure service agreements are commercially viable and aligned with company capabilities
Collaborate with internal teams across regions to coordinate cross-border logistics operations and deliver seamless service
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, pipeline activity, and performance metrics using CRM tools
Travel as needed, both locally and internationally, to meet clients and attend key meetings, with expenses reimbursed
