Are you passionate about engineering and ready to take on a vital role in the mining industry? Join our client as a Junior Tailings Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and responsible operation of their water dams and tailings facilities.
Main Objectives and Responsibilities
As a Junior Tailings Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the design aspects of engineering, including calculations, analysis, and proficiency in civil design systems.
- Collaborating with senior staff to efficiently compile and submit tenders and proposals.
- Compiling bill of quantities.
- Shadowing senior Engineers during on-site visits or being assigned as an Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) for basic site inspection and supervision.
- Attending client meetings to discuss tender and project progress.
- A 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Geology or Civil Engineering.
- A valid Driverxe2x80x99s License and access to your own transportation.
- Willingness to travel regularly to all operational sites.
- Postgraduate studies in relevant fields.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the mining industry.
