JUNIOR SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER
KZN - HOWICK
Support the development, implementation, and management of sustainability strategies and initiatives across departments.
Assist in monitoring performance, driving projects to improve resource efficiency, reducing waste, and environmental impact.
Job Requirements

• Assist in implementing and managing sustainability programs
• Support the development of energy, water, and waste management policies and procedures
• Conduct basic audits, risk assessments, and ensure non-conformances are recorded and followed up
• Capture, monitor, and analyse sustainability data and assist with compiling reports
• Support waste reduction, recycling, and community/environmental initiatives
• Provide administrative support for sustainability-related projects (meetings, minutes, documentation)
• Participate in employee awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and newsletters on sustainable practices
• Assist in monitoring new sustainable technologies and sharing insights
• Provide support with compliance processes, sustainability audits, and data submissions
• Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to support sustainability targets

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant Degree (BSc preferred; BCom or similar with suitable experience)
• Previous experience in a sustainability-related role advantageous or evidence of passion for sustainability(thesis/practical)
• Computer literate (Word, Excel and Power Point)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good numeracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
