Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-line technical support, assisting users with hardware, software, and network issues, and ensuring timely resolution of IT service requests. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for technology, a willingness to learn, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Skills and Experience
What you'll do:
Technical
Server Hardware and Windows Operating System monitoring.

  • Pro-actively monitor client server environments for issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues discovered.
  • Document all issues discovered and their resolutions.
Server Hardware and Windows Operating System support.
  • Assist in clearing space from server hard drives.
  • Manage memory over utilization.
  • Manage CPU over utilization.
  • Document known issues along with their resolutions.
Incident Support / Reactive Support.
  • Ensure that all alerts received are acknowledged within 15 minutes from the time they are logged.
  • Troubleshoot all alerts as they come in based on priority.
  • Escalate incidents that the MS CCentre Engineer is unable to resolve.
  • Follow correct processes as define by the company process and procedures.
Continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participate in all discussions around service improvement.
  • Implement all service improvement initiatives as agreed.
Maintain service levels as per client service level agreements.
  • Ensure that all tickets are resolved within the agreed upon service level agreements.
  • Ensure that all posted resolutions are detailed and accurate.
  • Perform trend analysis of common issues in order to implement permanent solutions.
Your expertise:
The MS Centre Engineer must have a strong IT Operations background working with enterprise architectures covering a wide range of technology sets.
  • 3-4 years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist with extensive experience in Server Hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting and remediation.
  • 3-4 years' experience in Windows Operating System support with extensive experience in Windows 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 & 2025 server installation, configuration, deployment, administration and remediation.
  • Practical understanding of ITIL Processes, the applying thereof, recommendations for improvements of existing processes and the creation of new processes.
  • Proven track record to manage complex, high pressure job environments.
  • Teamwork, flexibility, understanding urgency and priorities, and quick problem-solving skills are essential.

  • English - Can converse and has the necessary email skills
  • Excellent Customer Interaction with clear, concise, and effective communication skills
  • Effectively collaborate with the team to achieve common goals
  • Identify and resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications required:
  • National Senior Certificate/ Matric/ N3/ Grade 12
  • A+ & N+ Certification
ITIL Foundation or Higher. * MCSA or MCITP
  • Pass typical recruitment checks (criminal, qualification, ID verification checks, etc.)
  • Qualifications preferred:
  • SCOM Microsoft Certified
  • Desktop Central Experience.
  • Manage Engine Experience.
  • Science Logic Experience.

  • Location: Midrand - Onsite
  • Physical Demands: Monitoring agent will be required to be seated in front of a computer with the use of a Keyboard, mouse & various screens. WalkingBending may be required.
  • Working Environment: Office Based located in Midrand, Waterfall Park, Monrose Building. In a controlled environment together with the Security team.
  • Travel: Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license. Travel on request.
