Position Title: Junior Restaurant Manager

Role Purpose

The Junior Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in the daily running of the restaurant. This role ensures excellent customer service, smooth operations on the floor, compliance with food safety and health standards, and the effective supervision of staff.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Supervise front-of-house staff, ensuring professional service and customer satisfaction.

Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of staff.

Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or escalate to senior management.

Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.

Handle customer complaints or queries promptly and professionally.

Assist in stock management, ordering supplies, and controlling wastage.

Help monitor sales, costs, and profitability; contribute to achieving financial targets.

Uphold and promote company policies, standards, and brand values.

Qualifications & Experience

Matric / High school diploma (minimum); Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification preferred.

1-3 years' experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/team leader role.

Knowledge of food safety, health & safety regulations, and basic restaurant operations.

Skills & Competencies

Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Basic financial and administrative skills (cash-ups, stock control, reporting).
