Job Description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in Cape Town. As a leading recruitment agency, RPO Recruitment specializes in finding the best candidates for the construction industry. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and contractual management of construction projects. You will work closely with senior surveyors and project managers to ensure accurate cost projections and financial control throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
• Conduct accurate cost analysis, estimation, and forecasting for construction projects
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to review and negotiate project proposals
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual specifications
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, change orders, and payment certificates
• Maintain accurate project records, including measurement records and cost documentation

Requirements

• BTech in Quantity Surveying (NQF 7) or equivalent.
• At least 1 to 5 yearsxe2x80x99 relevant experience in a similar Built environment.
• Must be proficient on Candy (CCS xe2x80x93 Construction Computer Software).
• Prepared to travel to project locations.
• Valid Driverxe2x80x99s License and own transport
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft 365 and BuildSmart
• Excellent planning, organising, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise and focus on deliverables.
• A motivated self-starter who takes a proactive and solution driven approach.
• Evidence of achieving deadlines in a demanding environment.
