A hardworking Chartered Accountant with strong financial and analytical skills. The successful applicant must be able to work independently and feel comfortable on different ERP systems and must love numbers.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and analysing cash flow forecasts
• Preparing and analysing monthly management packs and related analyses
• Preparing and analysing Profit and loss forecast.
• Capturing of ad hoc accounting journals.
• Overseeing statutory compliance requirements
• Preparing and overseeing the preparation various SARS returns including:

• Monthly Vat returns and Vat reconciliations.
• Income tax returns
• Provisional Tax returns
• Ad valorem returns
• Calculating provisional and income tax liabilities.
• Building and analysing data and preparing various reports including:

• Merchandise reports
• Operations reports
• Sales Force reports
• Stock ordering reports
• Stock age analyses
• Working closely with other departments within the business to:

• Add value and financial expertise to operational decision, and
• Enhance financial control.
• Managing external audit processes (Financial, SARS relating and bank audits)
• Maintaining and making improvements to internal control systems specifically financial controls.
• Assisting to manage business and financial risks:

• Insurance cover
• Business continuity
• Managing foreign exchange risk:

• Preparing forex exposure reports
• Manging FEC contracts and utilisation thereof
• Overseeing creditors and bank teams:

• Preparation of creditors reconciliations
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Timeous payment of creditors
• Overseeing Debtors team:

• Preparation of debtors statements
• Monitoring credit exposures
• Ensuring timeous debtors collections
• Assisting to manage the:

• Rest of Africa accounting and compliance team
• Sales Force Credit control and collections support team
• Sales Force Finance Support team

• CA (SA)
• Has more 2 -3 years post articles experience as a Junior / Assistant financial manager.
• Experience in a retail or direct selling environment a plus
• Experience in an importing and exporting business a plus
• Experience in a stock and warehousing business a plus
• Is a "hands on" accountant who intimately understands how to navigate an accounting package and an ERP system.

• Experience working in an Online ERP (Pastel, SAP, Odoo or a similar ERP system)
• Must have experience preparing and reviewing VAT and income tax returns.
• Must have experience managing external audits.
• Is proficient on SARS e-filing.
• Advanced Excel skills essential
• Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite
