We are looking for a top achiever, a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team based in our Somerset West office, Cape Town.
Please note that this position will be based on-site and attendance in office will be expected four days a week.
This individual needs to have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience to support our team in financial modelling, financial data analytics, and strategic decision-making. The role will provide exposure to both traditional corporate finance work and modern data-driven analytics. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex datasets as well as building forward-looking financial models.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modelling
+ Assist in building, maintaining, and enhancing detailed financial models (three-statement, valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analysis).
+ Support development of increasingly complex models to guide client and internal decision-making.
+ Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning processes.
Financial Data Analytics
+ Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
+ Support data cleansing, transformation, and integration into reporting models.
+ Work with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python preferred) to create dashboards and reports.
+ Conduct variance analysis, profitability reviews, and performance measurement.
Decision Support & Reporting
+ Prepare client-ready presentations and reports that translate analysis into actionable insights.
+ Collaborate with senior analysts and managers to deliver investor-grade materials (board packs, deal support documents, strategic reviews).
Technology & AI Enablement
+ Gain exposure to modern data platforms such as
Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks
.
+ Leverage AI tools extensively for financial analysis, forecasting, data transformation, and insight generation.
+ Opportunity to develop skills in

Continuous Learning & Development
+ Develop expertise in advanced financial modelling techniques and analytical tools.
+ Stay updated with industry standards, valuation methodologies, and emerging technologies in finance and analytics.
Qualifications
A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Exceptional recent graduates with a top academic record in Finance, Data, or Statistics -- and demonstrable experience in financial modelling or financial data analytics (through internships, projects, or certifications) -- will also be considered.
Preferred certifications
: CFA (any level), FMVA, or equivalent.
Experience and Skills
1-2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting.
Excellent Excel skills (advanced formulas, financial modelling best practices, data manipulation).
Exposure to BI / analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) is an advantage.
Interest in modern data tools (Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks) and a willingness to learn.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
Clear communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-financial audiences.
Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and thrive in a high-performance environment.
Growth Path
