Junior Data Engineer - Badger SA (George, Western Cape | In-Office)

Junior Data Engineer

with curiosity, grit, and a hunger to learn.





You'll help design, build, and maintain powerful data pipelines that keep our insights sharp and our decisions fast. You'll be guided by experienced data pros, surrounded by innovators, and play a hands-on role in shaping how data drives the business forward.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that move data seamlessly across platforms. Develop and optimize data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, you name it). Clean, integrate, and prep data so our analytics and BI teams can work their magic. Use Python, SQL, and modern tooling to solve real data problems. Monitor, validate, and improve data quality and system performance. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to turn raw data into real insight. Document, share, and grow because teamwork and knowledge matter.

What You'll Bring

Currently studying towards a qualification in

Computer Science

,

Information Systems

, or

Data Science

. A solid foundation in

SQL

and a willingness to master it. Basic coding skills (Python preferred but we love all learners). Curiosity about

cloud data platforms

(Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and a love for clean, structured data. Attention to detail because small things break big systems.

Bonus Points If You've Got

Exposure to tools like
