Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Credit Analyst to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the financial position of clients, preparing comprehensive credit proposals, and ensuring all relevant information is accurately captured and maintained. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, a good understanding of credit processes, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Analyse financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and book debts to assess client performance.
Prepare income statements, balance sheet spreads, and consolidations.
Research market trends and conduct qualitative reviews and corporate ratings.
Obtain client background information, credit reports, and security confirmations.
Create SWOT analyses to identify risks and potential hazards.
Prepare and maintain detailed manual exposure reports, ensuring securities and valuations are current.
Conduct sensitivity analyses for credit proposals.
Respond to queries from credit committees and the board.
Maintain and update trade review lists, registers, and tracking schedules.
Prepare and send trade review letters to clients and accountants.
Liaise with clients regarding book debts and resolve queries.
Follow up on outstanding financial information.
Review FICA documentation and ensure compliance.
Compile and maintain deal files.
Requirements
Degree or relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting.
2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting environment.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Knowledge of credit policies and procedures.
Understanding of Shariah banking principles.
Familiarity with financial institution products and services.
Strong grasp of finance and accounting principles.
