Job Description
Our client, a national, privately-funded NGO who prides themselves on Human Rights-based inclusivity across the country, are seeking a Junior Chef for their retreat based in the Winelands.

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company
- You must be willing and flexible to work weekends and evenings when necessary xe2x80x93 reliable transport is essential
- You must have completed a tertiary Culinary qualification where both theoretical and practical skills have been applied coupled with at least 2 years of experience
- You will be preparing menus for the retreat and will be assisting in running the kitchen
- You must have experience working with buffet-style menus and be capable of operating in an environment where food preparation for dietary requirements is crucial when serving 3 meals a day for up to 20 guests, and catering for events when necessary
- You must be able to plan and prepare meals revolving around the local seasonal vegetable garden on site as sustainability is essential
- You must be able to manage stock based on menu planning, have key attention to detail, and have a positive and vibrant energy
- You must have a valid driverxe2x80x99s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
