Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the purchasing of mechanical engineering components and materials, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.



Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, etc.) to identify procurement needs and specifications.



Source new suppliers and manage existing supplier relationships to negotiate the best pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.



Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.



Assist in the preparation and review of purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.



Support the senior procurement team in managing supplier performance and resolving any supply chain issues.



Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, reports, and documentation.



Monitor and track order status, shipping dates, and deliveries.



Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

BCom degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

0-2 years of accounting experience, ideally within the FMCG or Retail industry.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.

Software Skills:

Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).



Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools.



Familiarity with the FMCG or Retail industry and its financial nuances.
