Helpbox is a fast-growing UK accountancy firm dedicated to helping small businesses manage their finances with confidence. We're expanding our remote team and are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join us.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for someone starting out in their accounting career who wants to gain hands-on experience with UK small businesses. You'll be supported by our UK-based team, with a structured training programme to help you grow into a senior accounting role over time.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with preparation of year-end accounts for small UK businesses. Supporting corporation tax return preparation. Helping with bookkeeping and reconciliations when needed. Working with senior team members on client queries and ad hoc accounting tasks. Communicating clearly with UK clients by email and phone (training provided). Ensuring work is accurate and delivered on time.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, aligned with UK business hours (09:00 - 17:30 UK time). 30-minute unpaid break each day.
What We're Looking For

1 year+ experience in an accountancy practice or similar (internships and work placements count). Basic knowledge of accounting principles (UK experience a plus, but not required). Willingness to learn how to prepare SME accounts and corporation tax returns. Excellent spoken and written English, confident in talking to UK clients. Organised, detail-oriented, and reliable under deadlines. Proactive, motivated, and comfortable working remotely.
