Join an esteemed company, boasting a rapidly expanding property portfolio in the heart of Pretoria. My client is seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to join their team and directly support the Financial Manager.
As the Junior Accountant, you will manage the financial operations of both the restaurant and convenience store. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, and providing analysis to enhance profitability while maintaining regulatory compliance. You will also assist with administrative tasks within the property division.
As a Junior Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

• Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Process customer payments, daily sales, and inter-company transactions.
• Reconcile sales control accounts, debtor balances, and balance sheet items.
• Prepare income statement reviews, budgets, forecasts, and month-end reports.
• Support audit processes with accurate financial documentation.
• Accounts Payable & Cash Management:

• Reconcile supplier accounts and delivery platform payouts (e.g., Mr D and Uber Eats).
• Manage petty cash and perform accurate cashbook reconciliations.
• Resolve discrepancies in supplier statements and payment records.
• Financial Control & Operational Support:

• Maintain organised financial records and filing systems.
• Support the GM with margin analysis, cost control, KPI tracking, and profitability insights.
• Assist with financial commentary and improve system integrations (Pilot, MDA, etc.).

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Experience in hospitality or retail/restaurant bookkeeping
• Relevant BCom/Diploma or financial qualification preferred
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Familiarity with MDA/MRI property management software
