POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a full time Wireless Tower Technician to join our team!

Needs a minimum of 5 years' experience working on towers and with broadband wireless and carrier equipment.

Needs to be willing to relocate, if appointed permanently after probation period.

Your main duties will be to work on towers (high-sites) in our local area.

You will be responsible for installing, maintenance, trouble shooting and repairing equipment on towers and other

high-sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

? Installation and maintenance of all equipment on towers and high sites (local and remote areas).

? Install, repair and resolve issues on these high sites.

? Perform basic to complex installation, troubleshooting & repair of wireless network systems under minimal

supervision.

? Perform tests to identify problems and then implement solutions.

? Configure and setup routers, switches, wireless and microwave equipment, etc.

? Do maintenance and installation of power systems (invertors, batteries (Lithium/lead acid) and solar panels)

? Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

? Commit to safe work - there is nothing more important!

? Monitor, communicate and perform corrective actions to fix problems affecting any high site or wireless

related equipment.

? Prep cables, earthing, connectors, installation of wireless equipment on towers and cabinets etc.

? Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and/or install wireless-based services.

JOB EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

? Working at heights or higher certification (must be current). (Minimum 3 Years experience)

? Need to be physically fit and comfortable working at great heights and in various weather conditions.

? Drivers licence. (with good knowledge and experience in 4x4 driving)

? Good motor vehicle driving record.

? Knowledge and experience with microwave and other wireless equipment.

? Ubiquity certification.

? Knowledge and experience with Cambium, Aviat, Radwin, Siklu, SIAE, Mikrotik, etc.

? Cable prep and earthing cables.

? Problem-solving, team work and attention to detail.

? Knowledge and experience working in network cabinets.

? Installing and configuring various wireless devices.

? Excellent writing and oral communication skills.

? Ability to interact with customers, vendors, contractors and other required personnel.

? The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal

controls processes.

? The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always

conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity.

? Willingness to further studies and qualifications.

DESIRED:

? Knowledge and experience with Solar power (solar panels, MPPT, Invertors, Lithium Batteries and Lead acid

batteries).

? A+ and N+ is a definite advantage.

? MTCNA certification would be beneficial.

? 4x4 off road driving certification.

EXPERIENCE

Wireless and Towers: 5 years (Minimum).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R8000,00 - R12000,00 per month
