Our business is a leading manufacturer in Baby Diapers, wipes and inconstance products. Situated in Devland South Africa, an exciting project opportunity as arisen for a Junior Project Electrician to work closely with the Technical Manager and Engineering Team.

The estimated project duration is currently 6-12 months.

Key Purpose

To execute electrical installations, modifications, upgrades and maintenance on FMCG production lines and plant infrastructure during greenfield/brownfield projects and shutdowns, while ensuring minimum downtime and full compliance with safety and quality standards.

Minimum Requirements

- Qualified Electrician with valid Red Seal (Section 13/26D) or NQF Level 4 Electrical Trade Test

- Wireman's License (advantageous - Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician)

- Min 1 yr hands-on electrical experience within FMCG / Food & Beverage manufacturing environment

- Proven project experience (new line installations, relocations, upgrades or shutdowns essential)

- Valid driver's license and own/reliable transport

- Clear criminal record and medically fit

Key Responsibilities

- Install, terminate and commission new electrical panels, motors, VSDs, instrumentation and control systems on FMCG production lines

- Fault-find and repair complex electrical faults on PLC-controlled equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, fillers, palletisers and utilities

- Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs and single-line diagrams

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance during planned shutdowns and running production

- Modify and retrofit existing electrical installations as per project scope

- Conduct lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and ensure full compliance with site safety protocols

- Complete job cards, checklists and sign-off documentation accurately

- Work overtime, shifts and weekends as required during project peaks and shutdowns

- Liaise with OEMs, contractors and production teams to meet project deadlines

Technical Skills & Knowledge

- Strong fault-finding ability on 400V/525V 3-phase systems, MCCs and distribution boards

- Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Schneider PLCs and SCADA (advantageous)

- Proficient in motor controls, soft starters, VSDs (Danfoss, ABB, SEW) and sensors

- Knowledge of SANS 10142-1 (wiring regulations) and OHS Act

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 6-12 months

Pay: R15000,00 - R22000,00 per month
