Our client, a mining group, is seeking a JDE Specialist, who will be responsible to design and implement key and common financial processes on JDE in coordination with business process owners and finance leaders. The incumbent gathers requirements from customers, implements the final project, and provides support and training to end users during the life cycle of the project.

Responsibilities:

Gather and document business and functional requirements, system flow diagrams, functional specification etc to meet the requirements and estimate time and resourcing requirements.
Gather operational and functional requirements from business users and subject matter experts, analyse the information and data gathered, and provide direction in formulating new functions, processes and procedures.
Analyse and examine business processes and procedures by reviewing user roles, use cases and other application specifications in detail.
Analyse issues to figure out the best solutions and working with technical and change management teams to get the changes implemented.
Define small to medium project scopes and expectations and confirm that the application requirements are established and in operation within the project schedule and budget.
Develop technical specifications to implement solutions that are accurate, streamlined, and well documented.
Design business processes, applications, and operational reports in support of various applications and business areas
Implement product configuration changes addressing business requirements and process reengineering.
Follow all prescribed software development life cycle and project management processes and procedures.
Provide functional application support and deliver JDE Solutions
Provide post implementation support for the implemented solutions.
Function as a JDE subject matter expert and assist end-users by problem solving, addressing queries and encouraging increased adoption of functionality.
Liaise with development teams on technical specifications for all module reports, interfaces, customization, extensions and workflow requirements.
Prioritize and resolve system issues to provide end-user support to ensure the system is performing as designed, information is timely and accurate, and end-users are functioning effectively.
Implement, monitor and control business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability.
Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology.
Collaborate with IT team members on the integration of all systems.
Investigate and understand customer needs to enable delivery of a quality service.
Ensure customer service solutions are aligned to the operational business plan.
Ensure product knowledge and advice is technically accurate and provide customers with relevant information to keep them informed of products and service options.
Participate in specialist communities of practice and contribute positively to own and organisational knowledge improvement.
Participate in Talent Management practices and processes in line with HR policies and procedures Monitor costs or expenses to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste.
Report on cost usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction such as adoption of digital / automation to streamline processes.
Ensure financial documentation is maintained to support accurate record keeping and future requirements as per legislation.
Escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs or financial losses.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

Tertiary qualification or relevant Financial Information Systems
5 years in a similar role providing support and project implementation and upgrades.
Financial Information Systems
Business Analysis
BI Reporting
JDE certification per module
Understanding of databases
Basic Programming
Writing technical specifications
