VACANCY: ITALIAN CATERING MANAGER WITH CHEF EXPERIENCE CATERING WITH CHEF EXPERIENCE - SODEXO SOUTH AFRICA

Location: Old Age Home Site

Reports to: General Services Manager

Sodexo is looking for an experienced

Italian Catering Manager with Chef experience

to oversee all catering operations on-site.

The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional service, maintain strong operational control, and uphold high quality food standards for our residents and clients.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS -- NON-NEGOTIABLE

Italian Cuisine experience - MUST HAVE

Mediterranean Cuisine experience - MUST HAVE

Italian-speaking - MUST HAVE

Old Age Home / Home Environment experience - MUST HAVE

Strong background in catering operations, stock management, menu planning, and customer service

Ability to manage staff, ensure compliance, and maintain high hygiene and safety standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee day-to-day catering operations and staff

Ensure excellent customer service and prompt handling of resident/client feedback

Manage stock: ordering, receiving, issuing, storage, rotation, and stock takes

Plan and compile menus, including cycle menus

Must have previous experience cooking authentic Italian dishes

Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene (HACCP compliance)

Ensure proper administration, recording, and reporting

Control purchasing, margins, recipes, cash/till procedures, and debtor processes

Coordinate with unit management, residents, and Sodexo teams

Support with functions and cover other Sodexo units when required

WORKING HOURS

As per shift roster, including weekends, as per operational requirements.
