IT Support Engineer
to join our South Africa-based remote team and provide 2nd and 3rd line support to our US customers.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong troubleshooting ability, excellent communication skills, and a passion for solving complex technical issues.
What You'll Do
Technical Support & Diagnostics
You'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving a wide range of issues, including:
PCs not powering on, not booting, or failing hardware (HDD/SSD, PSU, motherboard)
Windows corruption, recovery options, and update failures
Monitor display issues, printer faults, and peripheral failures
Corrupt user profiles, malware removal, and Windows repair without reinstall
Local server access issues and application crashes
Network slowness, packet loss, and connectivity problems
VPN, DNS, DHCP, and firewall troubleshooting
RAID drive checks and replacement workflows
Systems & Platform Support
Support for
Microsoft 365
, Windows 10/11, and Windows Server environments
Active Directory
account creation, permission adjustments, and group management
Remote troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and core business applications
Ticket handling, prioritisation, and clear documentation
Collaboration & Customer Experience
Work closely with our remote technical teams in the US
Communicate solutions clearly to technical and non-technical users
Maintain professionalism with difficult or stressed users
Take ownership of issues through to resolution
Contribute long-term solutions for recurring problems
What You'll Need
Technical Skills
3+ years
of experience in IT support (MSP experience strongly preferred)
Strong troubleshooting across Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking, and servers
Hands-on experience with Active Directory and remote support tools
Solid understanding of networking principles and diagnostics
Ability to repair OS issues without relying on reinstalls
Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured triage processes
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.) are an advantage
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to explain technical issues in plain, simple language
Calm under pressure, dependable, and solution-focused
Proven experience resolving difficult or escalated IT incidents
Ability to work well with global teams
Ownership mindset with strong follow-through
