As an IT Service Desk Technician, you will be the first point of contact for colleagues who need support to keep their work flowing. Your purpose is to ensure that every computer operates smoothly so that end users can accomplish their business tasks without interruption. From receiving and prioritising help requests to resolving issues hands-on at the desktop level, you will play a vital role in creating an environment where technology empowers people to perform at their best. You will not just solve problems, you will help shape a high-performance culture by ensuring that every interaction reflects care, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

To thrive in this role, you need a strong foundation in technology. A three-year bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an advanced technology-related degree is essential. Alongside this, you would be advantageous to hold industry-recognised technical IT certifications and a certification in IT Service Management. These qualifications will equip you to deliver solutions that are not only effective but aligned with best practices, ensuring that you can confidently support and guide others. Experience matters because it shapes your ability to respond with confidence and clarity. You should bring between two and six years of experience in information technology, with a solid understanding of computer hardware and excellent technical knowledge of PC components. Familiarity with desktop operating systems and diagnostic utilities will be key, as will experience working in an ITIL-driven environment. This background ensures you can contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, where every challenge becomes an opportunity to learn and grow.
