Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Program Planning & Strategy: Develop and define the scope, objectives, and business cases for infrastructure projects that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Project Oversight: Provide end-to-end management for multiple simultaneous infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage project budgets, including planning, tracking actuals, and forecasting future expenditures.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, and changes, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Governance & Compliance: Enforce project management methodologies and standards, and ensure all projects adhere to governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate project team members, including technical staff and third-party resources, and manage resource allocation.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular, transparent status reports to executive management and key stakeholders, outlining progress, risks, and key decisions.
Minimum Technical Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-year post matric tertiary qualification (Degree/Diploma)
  • Project Management qualification (PMP / Prince 2 / PMBOK / Post-graduate Project Management certification)
  • Post-graduate, Agile certification would be an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience in Project Management in IT/ICT projects with at least 4 as a Programme Manager.
  • Proficient in ICT infrastructure components, including data centers, servers, storage systems, networking, and security technologies.
  • Well-versed in infrastructure technologies of leading cloud hyper scalars (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud, Huawei), including virtualization, storage, replication, data protection, and encryption.
Essential Skills required:
  • Skilled in implementing cybersecurity strategies for defending network perimeters.
  • Experienced in overseeing multi-cloud hosting initiatives.
  • Proven track record in managing ICT network programs encompassing SD-WAN, network security, cloud integration, Wi-Fi connectivity, network segmentation, and edge computing to minimize latency.
  • Led initiatives in Infrastructure Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and execution.
  • Knowledgeable in compliance standards and methodologies relevant to ICT infrastructure governance.
  • Familiar with compliance requirements for physical access control within data center environments.
  • Experienced in deploying and utilizing technologies for ICT infrastructure monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Skilled in managing and implementing solutions across diverse Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
