Job Description

The IT Delivery Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and driving the successful delivery of technology solutions that align with business and IT strategic objectives. This role ensures effective collaboration across business units, technology teams, and stakeholders to prioritise, plan, and execute development work that delivers measurable value. The incumbent oversees end-to-end delivery from solution scoping, resource allocation, and architecture alignment to risk management, system evolution, and continuous improvement while ensuring that teams operate efficiently within established IT governance, standards, and frameworks. The IT Delivery Manager also plays a key role in fostering high-performing delivery teams, removing impediments, managing dependencies, and ensuring that technical constraints, environments, and legacy considerations are understood and addressed. Ultimately, this role ensures that the right work is delivered at the right time, with the right quality, to enable stable, scalable, and business-aligned technology outcomes.

Key Role Responsibilities



Managing, coordinating, and ensuring collaboration on technology development within a team and across needed teams for the solution implementation Ensuring that business owners are spear heading (managing scope, prioritising work, allowing enhancements/ improvements) Coordinating with the BU and Technology owners on collaboration and responsibilities including involvement cycles (frequency) Interacting with the BU & Technology owners to assure the right work is being done at the right time to achieve the Business/ Technology Value objective this includes prioritization, sequencing, functional decomposition, as- is / to-be architecture addressing impediments and cross-impacts Assuring work is ready to be pulled by the team with the available capacity of the team. Proactively managing the team velocity Managing iterative system evolution within technology boundaries Identifying risks, issues, dependencies for the Business and Technology Matching skills and resources required to produce the desired Business/Technology outcomes Tracking and providing status of the Business / Technology solutions/ implementations (except for status on value realization) Implementing and maintaining application area artifacts that support needs such as scheduling, architecture, design, risk, roles, resource estimation, procurement, communication, change management, project cost/ budget and issue management Coordinating application area activities, setting priorities, resolving organizational impediments, monitoring and reporting Provide guidance and maintain alignment with IT policies and standards Ensuring that environments (non-production i.e. test, UAT, QA...etc.) and teams are adequately scoped, planned and established Understanding the limitations that are due to technology (such as legacy D3, Forms etc.) and what we are going to do about those limitations, and what the inherent risks are Supporting and guiding the team(s) in continually (incrementally) improving their standards and quality, while they deliver Understanding the technical boundaries between internal and external components i.e. integration layers e.g. API's that are present Removing tactical impediments and driving the resolution of issues while ensuring continued focus on the Business / Technology solutions/ implementations, within teams and across teams Reviewing status of maturity assessments and planning maturity development i.e., continuous delivery improvements Proactively manage technical debt i.e., planning, scheduling and implementation and, Manage the sunsetting of legacy systems earmarked for decommissioning

Required Skills



Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline required Certification in relevant Enterprise Architecture or Technology frameworks and methodologies (Advantageous) Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of advanced ICT project management principles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) Experience in software development management or management of a delivery team including experience in leading a technical team Experience in database or software development roles In an environment which required validating work Stakeholder relationship engagement and management Responsibility for delivery in a fast-moving environment General business acumen Insurance industry experience advantageous Project Management principles and methodologies Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Agile Project experience and development principles knowledge would be very advantageous Project management experience advantageous. 9-10 years relevant job experience.
