Job Title: IT Analyst

Location: Verulam

The purpose of this role is to ensure that efficient and cost-effective business solutions and processes are in place to address business needs/requirements. The role facilitates effective and competitive business processes by eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business organisational and/or operational requirements. Ensure that solutions are delivered according to the business requirements. The role will work closely with our IT / R&D dept. Specialised knowledge of systems analysis, and the creation and testing of complex applications, system coding, will be a key success factor in providing relevant designs/technical solutions and practical configuration execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform functional and technical analysis of highly complex business requirements/solutions, document and translate these into a feasible fit-for-purpose design/technical solution and author detailed functional specifications for developers to deliver working functionality. Specify testing, training, definition, and implementation of standardised procedures for support of practical business solutions. Support the technical lead and coordinate IT work Support with gap analyses to determine and understand the functional business requirements and changes as defined by the IT lead, Product Owners and other stakeholders. Identify problem areas, measure various areas of performance, propose changes, and develop system and process improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively within and across functions, sharing best practices knowledge and expertise with cross-functional partners and providing support on complex problems, integration of findings or presentation of results, requiring expertise. Build and maintain a trust relationship with business and IT by delivering what was promised and providing expert technical and functional knowledge and guidance to system users. Analyse test requirements and test scenarios. Continuously support the business environment, through maintaining an understanding of initiatives and objectives, its various line portfolios, and the current trends and developments in the technology field. Champion agile methodologies and best practices and/or other agreed cross-functional team ways of working and help foster a culture of collaboration, commitment, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

IT qualification (IT related) Business Analyst / IT Analyst course or similar advantageous MS SQL fundamentals (Introduction to SQL) Certification and or experience MS SQL - Querying data with Transact Certification - (advantageous) Relevant and demonstrable experience in functional analysis, configuration, and user testing Experience in software testing IT Support experience Working knowledge of different operating systems and Internet technologies Experience of working on projects within the Software Development
