Job Description


Embark on a pivotal role as an Inventory Administrator specialising in parts management and asset reliability within our vibrant transport and logistics environment at Unitrans. Join our team and take charge of optimising inventory operations, ensuring seamless supply chain flow, and maximizing asset performance to drive operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements

  • Required qualification: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4
  • Experience in a similar role: up to 3 years
Duties & ResponsibilitiesInventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including stock counts, adjustments, and movements.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels adhered to whilst reporting on over and under stocks daily
weekly and monthly to category management.Parts Creation and Control:
  • Take ownership of parts creation on ERP systems, ensuring accurate entry of part details, including descriptions,
specifications, and associated assets.
  • Control the creation and deletion of parts to maintain data integrity and alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish standardized naming conventions and coding structures for parts to
facilitate efficient inventory management.Stock Repurposing and Optimisation:
  • Analyse equipment requirements and usage patterns to repurpose stock efficiently and ensure all parts at depots are
relevant to uptime and asset needs.
  • Coordinate with category management and maintenance teams to identify surplus or obsolete stock and implement
strategies for repurposing and dispositioning.
  • Optimize stock allocation with buyers based on equipment criticality, lifecycle stage, and maintenance schedules to
support operational continuity and minimise downtime.Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders to address stock availability issues, lead times, and potential supply
chain disruptions.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on parts inventory status, usage trends, and opportunities
for optimization.
  • Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and operations teams to understand asset requirements and ensure
alignment with parts inventory.Internal Customer Engagement:
  • Create an effortless environment for operations and internal customers for pricing, supplier on onboarding, ETA
(estimated time of arrival), and back-order management.
  • Update and make a visible order management to operations daily, weekly monthly.
Reporting
  • Assist the financial manager in procurement reporting through data retrieval from business for monthly findings
  • Consolidate data and assist financial manager with presenting data to head of procurement.
Receiving:
  • Assist Inventory assistant with ensuring GRN and 3-way match processes are complete for day end
  • Report on daily receipts and back orders for invoicing to FM of procurement daily.
  • Coordinate with stores cross dock requirements for emergency orders and expedition with supply.
