A leading player in the consumer goods industry is looking for an experienced International Channel Development Manager to join their dynamic team. This strategic role is central to enabling smooth international logistics operations, particularly across African markets, and plays a critical part in supporting the company's global expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics Management
Design and implement international logistics strategies aligned with business growth goals.
Streamline shipping routes and transport modes to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce lead times.
Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement through cost-saving initiatives and performance analysis.
Third-Party Provider Management
Select and manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
Lead contract negotiations, evaluate performance, and ensure alignment with service level expectations.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations, customs laws, and internal compliance standards.
Manage all aspects of import/export documentation, customs clearance, and tariff optimisation.
Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks stemming from regulatory or geopolitical shifts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to forecast demand, manage inventory, and support fulfilment processes.
Drive logistics readiness for new market entry and expansion initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
6-8 years of experience in international logistics, business development, or supply chain management.
8-10 years of experience working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in French and Portuguese is a strong advantage.
FMCG industry experience is highly beneficial.
Advanced computer literacy and analytical skills.
Valid Code 10 driver's license and ability to travel internationally.
