Job Title: Intermediate Tester Accountable to: Test Lead Based: Centurion Salary: Market related Contract type: Fixed Term (12 months) Commencement date: January 2024 Overview: The role of an intermediate tester involves conducting testing activities to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications. They will collaborate with development teams to understand project requirements and design test plans and strategies accordingly. Intermediate testers will need to execute various testing techniques, such as functional, regression, and performance testing, and document and report defects. Key responsibilities:

• Test Planning: Understand project requirements, develop test plans, and define testing objectives and strategies.
• Test Design and Execution: Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on project requirements and specifications. Execute tests, both manually and using automated testing tools, and record test results.
• Defect Management: Identify and report software defects or issues using a defect tracking system. Work closely with developers and other team members to ensure timely resolution of defects.
• Test Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test scripts, test results, and any relevant testing artifacts. Update test documentation as needed to reflect changes in requirements or test coverage.
• Test Environment Setup: Set up and configure the necessary test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations, to facilitate effective testing.
• Test Data Management: Create and manage test data sets required for executing test cases and scenarios. Ensure test data relevance, accuracy, and security.
• Test Execution and Reporting: Execute test cases and scenarios according to defined test plans. Document and report test results, including defects, test coverage, and any issues or observations encountered during testing.
• Test Automation: Identify opportunities for test automation and develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the testing process.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools. Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the testing practice.
• Adherence to Quality Standards: Ensure compliance with quality standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to software testing.
• Knowledge Sharing: Share testing knowledge and expertise with team members, mentor junior testers, and contribute to the growth and development of the testing team.

Qualification and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, or a related discipline
• 2-4 years experience required
• Testing Knowledge: Should have a strong understanding of software testing principles, concepts, and best practices. As well as, be familiar with different testing type, test case creation, defect tracking, and test management tools.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing tools and software is essential. Should also be familiar with test automation frameworks and have experience in scripting or coding languages to write automated test scripts.
