Job Description

A well-established commercial truck and bus company in Polokwane is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee its workshop operations.

The successful candidate must have strong commercial truck and bus knowledge, proven workshop management experience and the ability to make sound decisions in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the commercial workshop.
Lead, supervise and support workshop employees and technicians.
Plan and allocate workshop jobs to ensure efficient turnaround times.
Monitor repairs, maintenance and workmanship standards.
Ensure customer vehicles are completed according to agreed deadlines.
Communicate professionally with customers, employees and management.
Handle operational challenges and make effective decisions under pressure.
Maintain high standards of safety, productivity and customer service.
Be available on standby for after-hours breakdowns and coordinate the necessary assistance and arrangements.

Minimum Requirements
Proven commercial truck and bus workshop management experience is essential.
Strong technical knowledge of commercial trucks and buses.
Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to make sound decisions and work effectively under pressure.
Strong planning and organisational abilities.
Valid South African driver’s licence.
Willing to be available on standby for breakdowns when required.
Must reside in Polokwane or be willing to relocate.

Salary
Negotiable, market-related salary based on experience and qualifications.
