Injection Moulding Maintenance Technician

., a leading manufacturer of injection moulded products in South Africa, is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for Plastic Injection Moulding to join their team at our Cape Town and Johannesburg manufacturing facilities. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the maximum utilization of plant equipment, analysing problems with plastic injection moulding machines, and making necessary adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance:

Performing routine checks, lubrication, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal machine performance.

Troubleshooting:

Identifying and resolving issues with machines, moulds, and related equipment, often involving electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Repairs:

Fixing or replacing faulty components, ensuring machines are running efficiently and safely.

Machine Setup:

Assisting with the setup of injection moulding machines, including mould changes, parameter settings, and material handling.

Process Optimization:

Working with production personnel to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Documentation:

Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and machine performance.

Safety Compliance:

Ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.

Collaboration:

Working with other technicians, and production staff to ensure smooth operations.

Continuous Improvement:

Identifying opportunities to improve machine reliability, efficiency, and safety, and implementing solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electronics is a plus.

Troubleshooting Skills:

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems. .

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with other technicians, and production staff.

Attention to Detail:

Ensuring that all maintenance activities are performed accurately and thoroughly.
