Infection Prevention Specialist (ipc)
Job Description
To deliver the Infection Prevention and Risk Management strategy to improve outcomes and minimise risk by providing infection prevention expertise to the facility based on sound knowledge
Perform a variety of professional duties involved in the prevention and control of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI)
Plan, develop, and directly implement and evaluate infection Prevention and control activities throughout the facility
Expect resources of knowledge within the facility e.g., Microbiology, Emerging and resistant organisms and recognised IPC Practice
Implementation of cost-effective precautionary measures that is evidence-based
Prioritising infection prevention and control programmes to the facility's individual needs
Assist with the appropriate procurement
Avert impending outbreaks, morbidity and mortality
Ability to develop and present education programmes
Ability to make evaluative judgements
Ability to critically analyse statistics
Proficiency in oral/written communication
Influencing skills
Patience and Empathy
Complex problem solving
Analytical thinking and judgement
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Post Basic Qualification
Nursing Certificate in IPC Nursing (as registered by SANC)
Between 3 - 5 Years
