The IR Officer will provide a broad range of professional employee relations activities, employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, complaint investigation, policy interpretation & preparing & delivering related summary reports & recommendations. The IR Officer will manage & control all disciplinary issues up to the hearings & outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Handling complaints, managing grievance procedures & facilitating counselling in conjunction with all stakeholders.
Manage grievances and grievance procedures timeously & ensure management is up to date
Work with HR & the departental managers concerning disciplinary actions required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings & attendance of hearings
Advice on workman's compensation claims, compilation & submission of documentation
Managing relationships with unions & ensuring that the company's treatment of employees is consistent with its core business values & objectives
Ensure continuous revision, internal training & updates are provided on various IR, ER & recent case law and that this is conducted regularly across all levels of staff and where necessary coordinate external training on relevant matters
Assist in the organisation and induction of new staff on the code of conduct, HR & IR protocols & operating procedures during orientation
Investigating & resolving complex or critical industrial relations issues promptly & effectively
Participating in &/or leading projects focused on continuous improvement
Continually analyse & develop operating procedures as it relates to IR
Manage operational performance of the Employee Relations services within the HR department
Minimum Requirements:
Matric
Degree or National Diploma relevant to HR, IR as well as the SA Labour Legislation, NQF 6 or 7
Minimum 5 years experience
AN understanding of & insight into the BCEA, LRA, OHS, EE, SDL & POPI acts as well as the Main Agreements
Knowledge of regulations & compliance as it relates to Human Resouces and SA Law
