Role Overview:
The Identity Security Engineer (SailPoint IIQ) will be part of our Managed Identity Security Services team, responsible for operating and enhancing SailPoint Identity IQ environments for multiple enterprise customers.
This role focuses on maintaining secure, stable, and compliant identity governance environments that enable our clients to manage user access effectively while meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
The engineer will support both steady-state managed operations and project delivery, ensuring alignment with customer SLAs, compliance policies, and continuous improvement goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Managed Service Operations
Operate and maintain customer SailPoint IIQ environments, ensuring performance, stability, and compliance with SLAs.
Monitor system health, job schedules, and provisioning performance across multiple tenants.
Perform routine maintenance, patching, and version upgrades as part of service operations.
Respond to incidents, service requests, and changes through the ITSM platform (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and customer configuration baselines.
- Implementation & Configuration
Design, configure, and enhance SailPoint IdentityIQ modules including Lifecycle Manager, Compliance Manager, and Access Request.
Develop and maintain custom workflows, provisioning policies, and rules using Java, BeanShell, and SailPoint APIs.
Support integration with external systems (Active Directory, Azure AD, HR systems, PAM platforms, etc.).
- Customer Support & Service Delivery
Provide Level 2/3 technical support for SailPoint-related issues within agreed SLAs.
Collaborate directly with customer security and IT teams to resolve access and provisioning issues.
Participate in customer governance meetings, offering insights into performance, trends, and risk areas.
Ensure effective communication and escalation management with customer stakeholders.
- Identity Governance & Compliance
Support and manage access certification campaigns, SoD reviews, and audit reporting for customers.
Assist customers in meeting compliance requirements such as SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001, or internal controls.
Implement and maintain policy enforcement within SailPoint IIQ (e.g., entitlement policies, risk scoring).
- Continuous Improvement & Automation
Identify automation opportunities to improve service delivery efficiency (e.g., auto-remediation of provisioning failures).
Participate in service improvement initiatives such as self-healing jobs, enhanced monitoring, and standardization of workflows.
Stay up to date with SailPoint product updates, security patches, and emerging IAM best practices.
Technical Skills
3-5+ years of experience administering or implementing SailPoint IdentityIQ.
Solid understanding of IGA concepts: identity lifecycle, provisioning, certification, and policy enforcement.
Experience with Java, BeanShell scripting, XML, SQL, and REST/SOAP integrations.
Hands-on integration experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, HR systems (e.g., Workday, SAP), and PAM platforms (e.g., BeyondTrust, CyberArk).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in multi-tenant or multi-environment setups.
Service Delivery & Operations
Experience working in a Managed Service or Consulting environment supporting multiple clients.
Strong understanding of ITIL processes - incident, problem, change, and release management.
Proven ability to meet SLA targets, document resolutions, and track KPIs for service performance.
Comfortable operating in structured environments with customer reporting, escalation paths, and ticketing systems.
Academic Background & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer or equivalent hands-on certification (preferred).
Additional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CISSP or Security+ are beneficial.
