Human Resources Officer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Officer to oversee HR functions for approximately 200 employees across two companies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, task-oriented individual with the ability to work independently while building strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Administration:

  • Oversee general HR administration including documentation, filing, and updating employee records.
  • Manage company contracts: drafting, issuing, amendments, and monitoring fixed-term contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, labour law, and company procedures.
Recruitment & Selection:
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes: advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, onboarding, and induction.
Employee Relations & IR:
  • Manage conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, grievances, and CCMA hearings.
  • Facilitate retrenchments, dismissals, and contract terminations.
  • Implement performance management processes, employee coaching, and counselling.
Training & Development:
  • Conduct skills audits and hold quarterly skills committee meetings.
  • Manage ATR/WSP reporting and submissions.
  • Facilitate employee training and development initiatives.
Employment Equity & Compliance:
  • Facilitate and monitor employment equity plans and quarterly committee meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, POPI, EEA, company policies, code of conduct, and bargaining council agreements.
Health & Safety:
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Manage inspections, services, and incident investigations.
  • Facilitate Health and Safety committee meetings and IOD submissions.
Requirements:
  • Proven HR experience managing 200+ employees.
  • Strong knowledge of IR, conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and employment law.
  • Experience with ATR/WSP submissions, employment equity planning, and IOD claims.
  • Proficient in VIP and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
  • Task-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with the ability to work independently.
