Job Description


Our client in the Mining and Engineering industry is currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist in Burgersfort, Limpopo.

Responsibilities:

  • To form partnerships with managers by providing all HR processes to the business cycle, in line with the policy and legislation in South Africa.
  • To provide an advisory service to the management and employees of the company in order to ensure a fair and consistent approach to the organisation policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive industrial relations culture within the business and minimise risk by advising, guiding and supporting both employees and managers in interpreting company policies and procedures.
  • Reporting to the HR Director.
  • Responsible for Mine and Plant.
  • Ensure the company is compliant with HR statutory and legal requirements.
  • Ensuring reporting data is accurate and on time to meet HR reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure the business is capacitated always by following the recruitment process.
  • Ensure skills development across all levels for employees to function effectively.
  • To analyse the IR risk and ensure that there is no industrial conflict risk.
  • Recruitment and Selection.
  • Receiving and creating job requisitions.
  • Advertise job vacancy internally and externally.
  • Receive, screen and match applicants to the job profile.
  • Provide report to the Line Manager, HR Director and prior to confirmation of permanent appointment.
  • Present and discuss offer including company benefits and pay structure to candidates.
  • Arrange for pre-employment on boarding and assign a buddy.
  • Receive signed contract and send to payroll department for capture on the system.
  • Conduct induction follow ups with the department.
  • Arrange employment packs for new employees.
  • Employee Relations/Industrial Relations:
  • Advise, guide, support and coach managers in all matters related to industrial relations including employee welfare.
  • Advise employees on industrial relations matters and attempt to resolve their enquiries.
  • Assist the IR Manager in implementing programs that support good industrial relations environment.
  • Representation of the company at the CCMA.
  • Ensure compliance through ensuring implementation of the policies and procedures in disciplinary and grievance enquiries.
  • Talent and Development:
  • Support T&D Manager in integrating diversity strategies into employee recruitment, retention and development programs and measures the success of diversity initiatives.
  • Create and deliver/rollout workplace skills plan.
  • Compilation of the WSP and ATR documents for submission to SETA and other bodies.
  • Assist with compliance issues on employment equity process.
  • Assist HR Director and T&D Manager in ensuring the retention of employees and keep a close eye on the development process for EE recipients.
  • Conduct new employee climate checks prior to the end of probation. Applicable to management level. Thereafter an annual employee climate check.
  • Assist T&D Manager in managing and advising managers on all internal OD interventions and interfaces with all employee improvement initiatives and the implementation approach.
  • Assist in the annual BBBEE scorecard accreditation process.
  • Support internships and learnership programmes through engagement with site coaches and participants.
  • HR Administration:
  • New start sign on, exit process.
  • Process exiting employees.
  • Assist in resolving payroll related queries.
  • Compile HR letters relating to movement and other ad hoc items according to forms or documentation received.
  • Liaise with line managers regarding the input required to process salaries and other HR related items.
  • Produce monthly industrial relations and Human Resource reports for management to make accurate business decisions.
  • Ensure implementation of Internal Audit findings within area of responsibility in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology or similar.
  • 5 years Human Resource experience. Experience must include exposure to recruitment, training and development, payroll and industrial relations.
  • Preferably in a Mining or Production environment.
  • Valid unendorsed code B driver's Licence.
  • Knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Needs to be assertive, yet compassionate and willing to listen and respond to employee needs.
  • Mature and able to multitask while managing priorities.
  • Persistence when facing challenges and obstacles.
  • Creative thinker, negotiator and mediator.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Required to travel on a regular basis.
Remuneration:
  • R35 000 xe2x80x93 R43 000 per month.
