Established in 2018, Molo Mhlaba Schools is a vibrant and exceptional, independent Montessori school, serving girls aged 3 - 14 years. Molo Mhlaba Schools, is a non-profit organization that supports young girls with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths) education, early literacy development, physical health education and outreach programmes for children in the Khayelitsha community. The Molo Mhlaba Schools is a philanthropic venture that will establish and manage a network of low fee, independent private schools in underserved urban communities across South Africa.
Molo Mhlaba is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Assistant who will support the Human Resources department by managing various HR systems, facilitating smooth HR operations, assisting with recruitment, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and offering frontline support to staff. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and an understanding of HR processes and systems. The HR Assistant is responsible for managing multiple tasks, including training staff, assisting with recruitment, tracking attendance and leave, and troubleshooting HR-related issues.

Valid Police Clearance.
Valid Sexual Offences Verification Certificate (Form 30).
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Proof of eligibility to work in the country (e.g., valid work permit or national ID).
Willingness to undergo periodic background checks as required.
Vaccination records or medical clearance, if applicable based on workplace policies.
Education and Experience
Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in an HR assistant or administrative support role.
Demonstrated experience in employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
Familiarity with payroll procedures and timesheet management.
Working knowledge of labor laws and employment standards.
Experience in organising staff training and professional development programs.
Exposure to workplace compliance, audits, and internal reporting.
Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to assist and train employees effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), G-SUITE Applications, and HR software applications.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proactive attitude with the ability to handle HR-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document preparation.
Ability to support and implement HR initiatives and programs.
Customer service orientation with the ability to respond to employee inquiries effectively.
Capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
