Human Resources/ Industrial Relations Manager

Position overview:
To provide support to senior management and the project, to ensure a harmonious working environment for all employees on the site. Ensure that processes and procedures in the Industrial Relations are adhered to on a company-wide level. Minimizing risks to the business from a dispute resolution standpoint by ensuring that correct and consistent processes are maintained at all times. Training and development of internal management in IR processes. Representation and attendance at internal IR forums / proceedings, and external dispute resolution forums
Qualifications:
xc2xb7 Matric
xc2xb7 Minimum 5 years experience in an IR / ER management role.
xc2xb7 Degree / diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or Labour Relations
xc2xb7 Valid drivers license.
xc2xb7 Clear ITC and criminal record.
Skills and Experience:
xc2xb7 A minimum of 5 years prior experience in a HR/IR role
xc2xb7 An understanding of and insight into the BCEA, LRA, EE, SDL and POPI acts
xc2xb7 Knowledge of regulations and compliance as it relates to Human resources and South African law
xc2xb7 Previous experience working in a mega construction site is advantageous
Responsibilities:
xc2xb7 Continually analyse and develop operating procedures as it relates to IR, ER and HR across the site
xc2xb7 Manage grievances and grievance procedures timeously and ensure management are updated
xc2xb7 Work to improve communication, cooperation and planning in the Human Resource department
xc2xb7 Ensure strike and contingency plans are continually updated in the event of any industrial action
xc2xb7 Assist employees and management with queries and requests
xc2xb7 Advise management on all matters that involve conflict between employees
xc2xb7 Perform general administration duties for the HR office which may include filing
xc2xb7 Develop HR, IR and ER labour protocols, operating procedures and handbooks
xc2xb7 Maintain and follow HR policies, regulations and procedures related to the function, rights and responsibilities of all staff
xc2xb7 Work with departmental managers with respect to disciplinary action required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings, and attendance at hearings
xc2xb7 Where necessary support departmental managers on any CCMA or Labour court referrals
xc2xb7 Work with employee representative, union officials and management in managing conflict between parties and employees
xc2xb7 Negotiate collective bargaining agreements with employee representative or union and management
xc2xb7 Assist in the organization and induction of new staff on the code of conduct, HR and IR protocols and operating procedures during orientation
xc2xb7 Develop and submit timeously all HR related ED reports
xc2xb7 Prepare monthly payroll input for all Sinohydro employees
xc2xb7 Assist in management of the ED office to ensure that the works effectively
